In Gurugram, Proposed for a distance covering 28.50 km, the Huda City Centre to Cyber City Metro will offer seamless connectivity between Old Gurgaon and New Gurgaon. Sanctioned on a budget of Rs 5,452.72 crores, the project will be operational by 2027 and is likely to get a ridership of 5.34 lakhs.
The Union Cabinet approved the Huda City Centre to Cyber City metro project on June 8, 2023. This project will be implemented by Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Ltd (HMRTC) under a 50:50 special-purpose vehicle (SPV) comprising the governments of India and Haryana. The preparations are in full swing, and authorities have approached World Bank and European Investment Bank for availing loan. In addition, the general contractor (GC) tendering process has begun at the state level to kick-start the construction at the earliest. The project will take around 4 years to complete and get operational.
The Haryana government has decided to form a new company, Gurugram Metro Rail Limited, for the implementation of the metro connectivity project from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City Gurugram.
The Union cabinet, on 8 June 2023, had approved the metro connectivity from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City covering the distance of 28.50 km having 27 stations on the route. The project was initially proposed to be implemented by Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC).
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, who is also the chairman of Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation, made the announcement presiding over the 54th meeting of the corporation in Gurugram.
The new company — a 50:50 special purpose vehicle (SPV) of the government of India and government of Haryana — will execute all the upcoming metro projects in the Millennium City, while the HMRTC will continue to operate the existing 11.6-km Rapid Metro Gurugram.
The metro connectivity project from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City, Gurugram will span 28.50 km with 27 stations, and the estimated project cost stands at Rs 5,452.72 crore.
The project, entirely elevated, will feature a standard gauge line measuring 1,435 mm (5 ft 8.5 inches) and will have a 1.85 km spur to Sector 101 (Dwarka Expressway) at Gurugram.

Huda City Centre to Cyber City metro: Route
Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Ltd. (HMRTC) is the major implementing agency for Huda City Centre – Cyber City Corridor. It is anticipated that the daily ridership will touch 5.34 lakhs in 2026 and will go up to 7.26 lakhs by 2031. All the 27 stations included in the project are elevated. The proposed metro line will seamlessly connect New Gurugram to Old Gurugram. This metro line shall also offer connectivity to the IGI airport in the future.
Huda City Centre to Cyber City metro station list
The new Huda City Centre to Cyber City metro station is proposed to be built on a length of 28.50 km. This will be a standard gauge line of 1435 mm (5 ft 8.5 inches). The new metro line will connect with the Cyber City metro and Huda City centre at the Cyber Hub. Besides, this new metro will have an interchange with SNB RAPIDX (RRTS) at Udyog Vihar.
Huda City Centre to Cyber City metro: Current connectivity
Gurgaon is connected via 17 km of the Delhi Metro. Out of this, 5.3 km is of Delhi Metro’s Yellow line and the remaining 11.7 km is by Rapid Metro, which is jointly owned and operated by HMRTC and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The proposed metro network will directly connect Huda City Centre and Cyber City to boost connectivity. Also, this network will work closely with the Indian Railways.
Wrapping up, the new corridor between Huda City Centre and Cyber City is expected to reduce dependence on the Delhi Metro significantly. This coveted project is a tie-up between the Government of India and the Haryana government to bring swift connectivity between Old Gurgaon and New Gurgaon.
